An Overview of the Real-Time Dreams Extensions

چکیده
Current general purpose operating systems are unable to support a new class of applications that have the same requirements as conventional applications with additional real-time constraints. We describe how an operating system can support these processes by having an admission policy to ensure that all of the processes’ timing requirements can be met, by monitoring the behavior of the processes to ensure that one process cannot interfere with another by exceeding its allocated resources, and by scheduling the processes to meet their

Dreams in a Nutshell
The Dreams extensions have been developed in order to support distributed real-time applications within the conventional operating system paradigm. To demonstrate the viability of the extensions, they have been implemented within Windows NT. This paper introduces the important components of the Dreams extensions, provides an overview of the implementation, and highlights some of the experiences...
متن کاملA real-time recursive dynamic model for vehicle driving simulators
This paper presents the Real-Time Recursive Dynamics (RTRD) model that is developed for driving simulators. The model could be implemented in the Driving Simulator. The RTRD can also be used for off-line high-speed dynamics analysis, compared with commercial multibody dynamics codes, to speed up mechanical design process. An overview of RTRD is presented in the paper. Basic models for specific ...
متن کاملReal-time Posix: an Overview
The POSIX standard defines a portable interface for UNIXbased operating systems. The goal of this increasingly important standard is source-level portability of applications. In this paper we discuss the real-time extensions to POSIX and how these extensions address the needs of applications with real-time requirements.

In the present study an alternative model allows the extension of the Debye-Hückel Theory (DHT) considering time dependence explicitly. From the Electro-Quasistatic approach (EQS) done in earlier studies time dependent potentials are suitable to describe several phenomena especially conducting media as well as the behaviour of charged particles in arbitrary solutions acting as electrolytes. Thi...
متن کاملEntropy of infinite systems and transformations
The Kolmogorov-Sinai entropy is a far reaching dynamical generalization of Shannon entropy of information systems. This entropy works perfectly for probability measure preserving (p.m.p.) transformations. However, it is not useful when there is no finite invariant measure. There are certain successful extensions of the notion of entropy to infinite measure spaces, or transformations with ...
